The Psychology Behind Contagious Brands

How exactly do you craft your user experience in such a way that it becomes a part of someone's rituals and habits? How do you get people coming back for more? In this powerful video,we go over the psychology behind what makes a brand or product go viral by referencing three frameworks: 1. Hooked by Nir Eyal who uses the TARI model. 2. Contagious by Jonah Berger who uses the STEPPS framework. 3. Yu-kai Chou who teaches us a system called Octalysis. All three models are important, and they are applied to different systems and situations. TARI focuses on creating a user experience that has people coming back to your product repeatedly. Contagious takes on more of a marketing approach that teaches you how to create stories and content that make your product go viral. Octalysis teaches you how to gamify your experience and take everything to the next level. This video serves as somewhat of an overview of all three systems. In future videos, I will go into each system a little bit more deeply if it makes sense to. Like, Share, Subscribe - hit that notification bell! And be sure to register here to download your [...]

Peter Thiel, Zero to One, Competition vs Innovation

By |2020-04-01T00:40:18+00:00April 1st, 2020|Book Reviews, Business|0 Comments

In his manifesto Zero to One, Peter Thiel talks about the difference between globalization (zero to n) and technology (zero to 1). Businesses that use the globalization model focus on competition; they offer products and services that are easily copied by other businesses, so they have to focus on clever marketing tactics that help differentiate themselves from the competition. Businesses that conversely aim for technology end innovating new products that stand alone in the marketplace. Such businesses do not need to focus on differentiation because their very offering is differentiated. In this video, I discuss my stance by introducing Personalization, which is a step towards innovation (Zero to N), but making it more accessible for all kinds of businesses and services by encouraging people to build their ventures in alignment with their core identity.
